Cecil Wayne Hodges February 03, 1938 – December 19, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Cecil Wayne Hodges, 80, of McAlester, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in McAlester. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor Roy Prince.

Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn Tinker, Bob Yount, Keith Yount, Joe Clark, Les Brooks, and Justin Fultz. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gibbs, Bill Kirk, Charles Christian, Jack Cordell, Toy Wingo, Johnny Gibson, Bill Derichsweiler, Bradley Padgett, Jose Martinez, Don Houdgens, Tony Drizness, and Mark Friedstad.

Cecil was born on February 3, 1938 in McAlester to Cecil William and Muriel (Winningham) Hodges. He grew up in McAlester, and graduated from McAlester High School in 1956. Cecil married Sue Wingo on May 14, 1958 in McAlester.

He worked for T.H. Rogers Lumber Company then Rockwell International and Boeing where he retired in 1994 as the machine shop supervisor. Cecil served in the Oklahoma National Guard for seven years. He attended Northgate Baptist Church.

He enjoyed being with his grandsons and sharing his experiences and knowledge with them. He also enjoyed his mornings with the McDonalds’ Coffee Bunch. Cecil was a wheeler dealer, and enjoyed buying and selling cars and parts.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Cecil and Muriel Hodges and a sister: Nancy Hodges. Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Sue of the home; daughters: Pam Riley and husband, Steve of Weatherford, Texas, Sheila Wells and husband, Larry of Lexington; son: Darrell Hodges and wife, Carrie of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandsons: Zachary Gibson and wife, Audrey of Weatherford, Texas, Steven McDonald and wife, Leslie of Lexington, Kyle Riley and wife, Lauren of Willow Park, Texas, Chase Hodges of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Dillon Wells and fiancée, Heather Johnson of Lexington, Bradin Hodges of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Brooklyn Thompson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie McDonald of Lexington, Maddox Giattini, Cooper Gibson, and Trent Gibson, all of Weatherford, Texas; and Beau Million of Tulsa who had a special relationship with the family.
