Cecilia M. Schueller, 83 years old, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee. She was born on January 25, 1935 in Port Washington, daughter to William and Olive (Berres) Schmitz from Saukville, WI. Cecilia attended Immaculate Conception School 1-8th grade then attended and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1953.

Together Cecilia and Fred resided in Belgium/Holy Cross for 61 years of marriage before Fred’s passing September 23, 2015. Cecilia was a member of Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross Chapel, member of Ladies Foresters of Saukville, member of Christian Women’s Society Divine Savior Parish (Holy Cross Branch) and 4-H Leader in Ozaukee County for several years.

Cecilia’s work history included working at HVC in Fredonia, WI for many years along with lacing shoes at home for Lake Church Leather Products for 18 years. Cecilia also worked a short time at Shopko in Grafton along with cleaning the Holy Cross Chapel for several years with her grandson Sam. Cecilia and Fred worked together with their son Wayne and Daughter-in-law Mickie for their own Company, SCHU Industries for over 30 years.

Cecilia always enjoyed decorating for every holiday and occasion and always loved her flowers. Also, Cel was very proud to have created all the floral bouquets for both Wayne and Mickie and Kevin and Sue’s weddings. She also enjoyed creating many arrangements for the altar at Holy Cross Chapel.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, attending musical events and traveling. Fred and Cel traveled to almost every US state and also had the opportunity to visit Germany and Luxemburg. Fred and Cel were honored to be chosen to be the Duke and Duchess for the Luxemburg Fest in 2000.

Cecilia is survived by her children Wayne (Mickie) Schueller of Belgium, Sandy (Larry) Duwell of Belgium, Susan (Kevin) Richison of Belgium, and Paul (Naomi) Schueller of Cascade. She is further survived by Grandchildren Amy (Matt) Brockdorf, Amanda (Robert) Wampner, Dawn (Daniel) Moore, Brian (Lindsey) Duwell, William (Lindsay) Richison, Samuel Richison, Ryan (Brenna) Schueller and Kendra Schueller, as well as 6 great granddaughters and 1 special great grandson. Also survived by brother Robert Schmitz, Brother-in-law Killian Burton, Sisters-in-law Marcella Schmitz, Carol Flerchinger, Bernice Schueller, Virginia Schueller and Pearl Paradeis.

Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband Frederick, Brother Arthur Schmitz, Sisters-in-law Dolores Schmitz, Mildred Burton, Joyce Schmit and Doris Gahan, Brothers-in-law LeRoy Schueller, Robert Schueller, Lyall Flerchinger, Vernon Schmit, John E. Gahan Jr., Thomas Paradeis, and Ronald Schueller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 11, 2018 at Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross Chapel 5330 HWY B, Belgium, WI at 5:30 p.m. Father Todd Budde will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until the time of Mass at 5:30 p.m. Cecilia will be laid to rest next to her husband Fred the following day at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Cecilia’s family requests memorials to the Divine Savior Holy Cross Chapel Cemetery and Building Maintenance Funds. A very special thank you to Pine Haven Christian Home Sheboygan Falls and the caring staff for the compassionate care they provided.
