Obituary for Charlene Holley Chesshir Charlene Holley Chesshir, 91 of Cross Plains, passed away Thursday December 13, 2018 in Abilene. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cross Plains Church of Christ with Charles Chesshir officiating. Burial will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland.

The family will receive friends at the church Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. Charlene was born May 31, 1927 in Abilene to Cleburn Holley and Johnnie Ann (Vanlandigham). She married James Eldon Chesshir on December 20, 1946. To this union was born 5 children.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ, as well as the Pioneer Quilting Club. She enjoyed numerous bible study groups through the years. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Thomas Woody; a sister, Irene Harbin; 2 grandchildren, Eric and Corby Eldon Chesshir; 1 great-grandchild, Toby Barbour; and a son-in-law, Brian Rogers.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Christy Dallas and husband Doug, and Nancy Rogers of Eastland; 3 sons, John Chesshir and wife Margaret, Jim Chesshir and wife Fran, and Charles Chesshir and wife Kathy all of Cross Plains; her twin sister, Christine Cooper of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren including Amy (Chesshir) Barbour and husband Chris, Abby (Chesshir) Gromer and husband Ashley, Jodi and Jake Dallas, Dustin Chesshir and wife Holly, John and Summer Chesshir and Melanie (Chesshir) Masters and husband Andrew, Robby King and wife Rye, Sarah Sellers and husband Justin, Neely Burrows and husband Russell, Tasha Donarumo and husband Joe, and Cagney Rogers and wife Carlisle; great-grandchildren, Mia Barbour, Remy Barbour, Silas Gromer, Samuel, Stephen, Seth, Sarah, and Sharon Chesshir, Sana, Eric and Nadia Masters, Zane and Eva Sellers, Carsten, Kaiser, Knox, and Krosby Donarumo, Hayden, Barron and Keaton Burrows, Carrigan Rogers, Hunter Nichols, Corbin Chesshir, and Hayley and Christopher King; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations in Charlene’s name may be sent to Hendrick Home for Children, P. O. Box 5195, Abilene, TX 79608-5195, where she and her twin sister Christene grew up.
