Charles Andrew Burnham, 49 of Ashtabula passed away Friday (Nov. 30th) at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home surrounded by his family. He was born September 25, 1969 in Ashtabula, Ohio the son of James L. and Catherine (MacLearie) Burnham and was a lifetime area resident.

He was a graduate of Edgewood High school in 1987 and played Tuba in the High School band and still enjoyed playing in the Alumni band. He then graduated from Briggs-Stratton-ETI Technical College in 1991 with a degree in Electronic Engineering. Charles was employed as Design Engineer at Kinetek Controls in Perry, Ohio until June of 2018.

He was a member and Elder at East Side Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Directors at ABC Day Care. He enjoyed spending time with his family, volunteering at the Ashtabula Arts Center and researching Railroad History. He was founder of the Ashtabula County Railway Historical Foundation and was one of the authors of the Bliss and Tragedy.

For several years he worked part time as a conductor and engineer for the AC & J Railroad in Jefferson. Surviving him are his daughters, Cassandra and Caitlyn of Ashtabula; his mother, Catherine Burnham of North Kingsville; his brothers, Glen (Pattie) Marty (Debra) of Ashtabula and David (Sara) of Gahanna, nieces and nephews; Alexandra, Joseph and William of Ashtabula and Andrew and Aaron of Gahanna. He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Burnham.

Funeral service will be Friday (Dec. 7th) at 11:00 am at the East Side Presbyterian Church 3440 Edgewood Dr. Ashtabula. With Rev.

Michelle Bartle officiating. Burial will be in East Lake Cemetery in North Kingsville. Visitation will be Thursday (Dec.

6th from 5 to 8 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula and from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Memorial Fund of the East Side Presbyterian Church; the Ashtabula Arts Center or for his daughters future education.
