Ware – Charles A. “Charlie” Moulton, Jr., 95, of Ware died on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves those he cherished dearly, his sons, Glen Moulton and his wife Kay, Gary Moulton and his wife Lorna, Jeff Moulton and his fiance Carol Girard, Eric Moulton and his wife Alice, and Robbie Moulton all of Ware; his daughters, Cheryl Dowell and Cynthia St. George and her husband Roy all of Hardwick; 18 grandchildren, Garrett Moulton and his wife Amanda, Erica Moulton, Jonathan Moulton and his wife Olivia, Adam Moulton and his wife Amanda, Corey Moulton and his wife Karen, Nicholas Dowell, Brian Russell and his wife Sue, Katie Gagner and her husband Jeff, Benjamin St. George and his wife Ashley, Holly LeBlanc and her husband Paul, Kara Moulton and her fiance Nick, Katie Moulton, Brandon Moulton, Audrey Moulton, Eric Moulton, Jr. and his wife Beatrice, Kyle Moulton, Olive Moulton, and Woodman Moulton; 11 great-grandchildren; his loyal dog Vicky, his long-time sportsman friend Art Dell Orto, and his nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his wife, whom he was so devoted to, Bella T. (Morin) Moulton in 2014 after 64 beautiful years of marriage.

He was also predeceased by his brother Herbert Moulton and his sister Sylvia Rys. He was born in Ware, son of the late Charles A. and Anna (Terrien) Moulton. Charles joined the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1943, serving courageously in World War II as a Supply Technician and earning his sharpshooter qualification.

After returning home, he worked for the Worcester Railroad for 6 years. In 1952 he founded the Moulton Insurance Agency and shortly after opened Moulton Real Estate which later became Century 21 Moulton Real Estate. Charles radiated the true spirit of entrepreneurship.

Charlie was known for his smile, wave and the twinkle in his eye. He loved his family and enjoyed their daily visits. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, cutting wood and believed in working hard.

He shared his passion with his children and grandchildren by being the best role model and teacher he could. He was a member of All Saints Church and very active in the community. Charlie was a proud member of the American Legion Post 123, an original member of the Ware VFW, the Quabbin Fisherman’s Association, the Aspen Street Rod & Gun Club, the Ware Grange, the Sportsman Alliance of Maine, the Forks Fish and Game Association of West Forks, Maine, the Maine Antler and Skull Trophy Club, the Boone & Crockett Club, and the Quabbin Gate 43 Fisherman’s Hall of Fame.

As his 1942 Ware High School yearbook said, “Charlie is an outstanding gift to the Rod & Gun Club. Long may he fish and hunt”. .

A Funeral Mass for Charles will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 10:00 AM in the All Saints Church in Ware. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019, from 5 to 7 PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield.

Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 123, P.O. Box 123, Ware, MA 01082, to the All Saints Church, 17 North Street, Ware, MA 01082 or to the Overlook Hospice Services, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507. Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware is assisting his family with arrangements.
