Charles was born February 5, 1933 in Wayne, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of three sons born to Elmer W. Boydston and Lola Viola (Helton) Boydston.

Charles grew up a farm boy and attended the Wayne schools. During his teenage years he had to drop out of school to help support his family. He later returned to high school and graduated with the class of 1954.

Two months after graduating he married the love of his life, Lurene West. They were married on July 11, 1954, in Purcell. After being married only a few months, Charles was drafted into the U. S. Army and was stationed in Alaska for two years.

Charles and Lurene lived in Washington State for a while after he was honorably discharged in 1956. They then moved to Mule Shoe, Texas, then later moving to Lawton before finally moving back to Purcell in 1963. Soon after moving back to Purcell he started working for Bob Miller Chevrolet and became a certified Chevrolet automotive technician.

He worked for Bob Miller until they closed the dealership, and then worked for C & C Automotive and later for M &M Automotive in Purcell until he retired in 2008. Charles was a faithful Christian and member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Purcell for over 60 years. Throughout his life he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

While his children and grandchildren were growing up, they enjoyed camping, boating and water skiing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by: Parents, Elmer and Lola Boydston, Niece, Andrea Boydston, Nephew, Gary Boydston, He is survived by: Wife of 64 years, Lurene Boydston of the home in Purcell, Two children, Janet Boydston and David Boydston both of Purcell, Two grandchildren, Chandi Woolly and husband Shane of Madill, James Boydston-Selman of Purcell, Two great grandchildren, Landry and Maverick Woolly of Madill, Two brothers, Bennie Boydston and wife Virginia of Purcell, Dewayne Boydston and wife Betty of Wayne.

One sister-in-law, Carlene Smith of Midwest City. Also several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. A visitation with family and friends will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, Dec.

20, 2018 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday, Dec, 21, 2018 at the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, 16958 Horse Ave, Purcell, OK. 73080.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
