Charles E Austin , February 15, 1930 — November 15, 2018

Charles E. Austin, 88, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was born on February 15, 1930 in Townsend, Delaware, son of the late Roland and Elizabeth Diehl Austin. Charles had worked for Playtex, where he retired.

He was a champion marksman and member of the Amateur Trap Shooters Association where he won numerous awards. He also was a member of the NRA. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting.

He is survived by his wife Olive Austin, son Charles E. Austin, Jr. of Kenton, grandson Paul Austin, three stepsons Paul Edge of Columbia, NC, Don Sard of Salisbury, MD, Miles Edge, Jr. of Clayton, DE, three step grandsons Justin Edge of Columbia, NC, Scott Edge of Raleigh, NC and Michael Sard of Salisbury, MD great grandsons Paxton and Pierce Austin both of Kenton, DE, step grandsons Cameron Edge and Cimone Edge both of Clayton, DE, step great grandchildren Haydn and Marcus Edge both of Raleigh, NC. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave. , Wyoming, where visitation will be one hour earlier.

Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Associated Services for the Blind, Att. Development Office, 919 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19107.
