Charles “Jim” Denoskey, 101, of Watsontown, went to his peace on Friday, May 10, 2019 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg. He was born in Watsontown on February 2, 1918 and was the son of the late Boyd and Hazel (Koons) Denoskey. He resided in the area his entire life.

He was a 1936 graduate of Watsontown High School and was employed at the former Philco-Ford-Zenith Corp. , Watsontown for 44 years, retiring in 1983 as Manager of Cabinet Production. Jim was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army 8th Air Corp in England for four years.

He was awarded a bronze star and was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sargent. He was a life member of the Watsontown American Legion and the 381st Bomb Group Memorial Association, Ridgewell, England. He was a 32nd degree mason of the Warrior Run Royal Arch Chapter F&AM, and a life member of the Blue Lodge and Consistory, Williamsport.

Jim was well-known in the community for his woodworking abilities. His motto was “he could fix anything but a broken heart”. For years he was on the committee to make centerpieces for all the Philco-Ford-Zenith banquets.

He enjoyed dancing, tool and machine auctions, and driving around in his truck with his school buddies, Lester Ulrich and Birdie Frantz. He also enjoyed the company of his good friends, Rich Nornhold and Ron Harmon. Surviving are his sister, Shirley Lorah and husband Dick, and one nephew, Kim Lorah, all of Watsontown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his life-long companion, Betty J. Baylor, and a sister, Marvene Elizabeth Denoskey. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019 at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, PC, 124 Main Street, Watsontown. A graveside committal service will follow at 2:30 Friday at the Watsontown Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by combined veteran organizations.

Following the committal service, everyone is invited to join Jim’s family at the Watson Inn for fellowship and refreshments. Arrangements are entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc. , PC, Watsontown.
