Obituary for Mr. Charles Lee Bumpers On Friday, August 31, 2018 our loving father Mr. Charles Lee Bumpers (67) also known as “Chic” and “Pop” passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Hampton, Virginia. He was born July 15, 1951 in Wake County, NC to the late Caronza and Ella Bumpers Crowell. Charles graduated from Ferguson High School in Newport News, Virginia.

Charles served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1975 and fought in the Vietnam War. He also worked in the Hospitality Industry for over 30 years as a maintenance technician at Fort Eustis where he was truly loved and will be greatly missed. Charles had a huge heart and was a caring, giving, and loving man.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, crabbing, and watching the Dallas Cowboys play. Charles was preceded in death by his Aunt, Louisa Bumpers. He is survived by his loving Aunts Sally Bumpers and Shirley Wilson, both of Newport News, VA.

Charles leaves to cherish his precious memories eight amazing children that he loved more than they’ll ever know; Terrance L. Bumpers (Carla), Brandie Bumpers, Jamyce Evans, Keshla Bumpers all of Newport News, VA; and Jermaine Evans (Jaquina), Charles Glee (Shearon), Jamara Evans, Janera Evans-Brandy (Marcus) all of Hampton, VA. He also left to cherish is memories 25 beautiful grandchildren that meant the world to him and a host of other family members and loving friends. Last but not least his best friend/brother Bill Hall (Judy), you meant the world to him and he loved and appreciated you; as do his children.
