Charles Leon Howard finished his mortal mission on October 5, 2018 at the age of 62 and is making shots from half-court, taking down a 5-point elk, bowling a 300, serving in the military, and catching 8lb bass. “Chuckie” was born March 26, 1956 to Cecil and Jessie (Peel) Howard, the youngest of 8 children. He “scooped the poop,” (septic tank business), knew where everything was, created smoothie concoctions, hoarded cardboard, and never threw away a t-shirt.

However, Chuckie never let Down syndrome affect his ability to make a friend, lead a choir, and entertain family. His greatest loves were family, friends, God, country, WWE, old westerns, and STUFF. Clean his room and he threatened to “take you down”.

Turn the channel? You better run. Throw anything away and he’d retrieve it.

However, his greatest love was Elvis (a cute girl was a close 2nd). He was the original “Hound Dog”. And yes, we are “Lonesome Tonight”.

He is “Always on our Mind,” would ask us to please “Don’t be Cruel,” and simply “Love me Tender”. We will always remember our “Hunk, a Hunk of Burning Love”. We’re reminded of Chuckie through his beautiful art, unfaltering faith, example to all, and ability to pick the winning team- usually the one winning or wearing white.

Chuckie is survived by too many friends and extended family to name and is joyfully reunited with his dad, Cecil Howard Sr., mom Jessie Howard (Peel), sister Frances Howard, and brothers Cecil Howard Jr. (Carla) and Buddy Howard. His surviving sisters include Lily Morriss (William) and Marie Noll (Gary) and brothers Don Howard and Alan Howard (Janis). A service to celebrate Chuckie’s life is scheduled for October 19, 2018 at 6:00 pm, 3305 W Kuna Rd, Kuna, ID.

Graveside service will be at Noon Saturday October 20, 2018 at Hermiston Cemetery (407 Christiansen Lp, Hermiston, OR). “Thank you, thank you very much. Elvis has left the building”.
