OBITUARY Charles Lindberg August 18, 1934 – September 29, 2018 Charles Bruce Lindberg, of Hyannis, a long time resident of Buzzards Bay, MA and Ormond Beach, FL; passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimers. He was the husband of Alyce C. (Ahearn) Lindberg. Born in Quincy, MA, a son of the late Charles W. and Anne C. (Tully) Lindberg.

Chuck graduated from Quincy High School and then went on to play basketball for Stonehill College. Upon graduating from Stonehill College, he was proud to serve as an officer in the United States Marine Corp. He also received his CAGS from Bridgewater State.

He taught and coached football and basketball at Bourne High School, he went on to become the principal of the E.C. Stone School on Otis AFB. He then became the principal of the Grade Six School in Hyannis. He retired from the public school systems and became the principal of the St. Margaret’s Regional School in Buzzards Bay until he retired.

Chuck shared his passion for sports with his children by coaching them in youth baseball and hockey in the town of Bourne. This passion continued as he followed his grandchildren’s athletic careers. Besides his wife, Alyce, he is survived by his children: son Daniel and his wife, Betty; son Charles; daughter Mary Roux and her husband, James; and son Gregory.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan Lindberg, Christine Lindberg and her husband Matthew Pezone, Abigail Roux, and Caralena Lindberg and nieces, nephews and In-Laws from all over the country. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at noon at St. Margaret’s Church 141 Main Street Buzzards Bay, MA. Interment to follow at 2:00 pm at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Route 28, Bourne, MA on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Chuck’s name to St. Margaret’s Regional School,143 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA 02536.
