Charles’ Obituary Princeton, MA- Charles Remington Hamilton, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Wachusett Manor in Gardner, surrounded his by family. Charlie was born on July 30, 1929, in Princeton, the son of the late Richmond and Emily (Lowe) Hamilton. Charlie leaves his sister, Patricia and brother in law, Richard Bullock of Princeton; two nephews, Douglas Kriek of Asheville, NC and Bruce Fenn and his wife Pamela of Barre; two nieces, Jennifer Lefferts and her husband Jason of Fitchburg and Emily Bullock of Princeton; seven great-nieces & great-nephews, Andrew, Rebecca, Olivia, Abigail, Benjamin, Alexander and Nina; and beloved extended family in his home away from home, Hickory, North Carolina.

Charlie was predeceased by his sister, Janet Kriek, his nephew, Brian Kriek and his cousin and extremely dear friend, Shirley Michael. Charlie went to elementary and middle school in Princeton. He then attended Holderness School in Plymouth, New Hampshire.

Charlie proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Upon his return to Princeton he began working for his father and grandfather’s business, R.H. Hamilton and Son. , Builders.

Once retired from contracting, Charlie settled in North Hampton and Seabrook, NH. He spent much of his time keeping busy at John McInnis Auctioneers in Amesbury, MA. Charlie had a great love and knowledge for antiques, primarily antique cars and boats.

He was happiest on the ocean especially with a golden retriever by his side or driving up and down the Eastern seaboard in his Chevy truck. He loved to travel with his cousin Shirley and spend time with his family near and far. Charlie had a passion for lobster rolls, steamers, Fox News and NASCAR.

Before his move to Wachusett Manor he had the pleasure of living with Gloria and Phil Lariviere in Kensington, NH. A private graveside ceremony will be held in June at Woodlawn Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Association of the United States Navy, 3601 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 110 Alexandria, VA 22304 or to the Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue League, at P.O. Box 808, Hudson, Massachusetts 01749-0808.

The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA, has been entrusted with Charles’s care. John F. Masciarelli, Walter C. Taylor and James M. Hebert, funeral directors.
