Charles V. Stine Sr., 69, of Catawissa passed away peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Tuesday February 26, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born September 22, 1949 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Verdon and Ethel (Pursel) Stine. He graduated from Bloomsburg High School, and then joined the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict.

Charles was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting on his farm, watching the Phillies, and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Charles is survived by his wife the former Joanne B. Thomas, whom he married on June 5, 1971, son Charles V. Stine Jr, Gary L. Stine and wife Vanessa, and three grandsons; Dylan Stine, Denny Stine, and Thomas Myers.

As well as two brothers Jim Stine and wife Linda, Donny Stine and friend Sherry, and sister Nancy Engel. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his son Dennis “Denny” Stine, and two brothers Richard E. Stine and George A. Stine. Services will be Saturday March 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa with his pastor, Pastor Paul Kreisher officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions in Charles’s memory may be sent to Bethel United Methodist Church, 168 Bethel Road, Catawissa, PA 17820.
