Charles William Eckhard, age 71, of Magnolia, DE, formerly of Denville, NJ, passed away December 19, 2018 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. Charles attended Hanover Park High School in New Jersey and graduated from Bethel College. Mr. Eckhard enjoyed studying history, especially the Civil War.

He was a life long N.Y. Giants fan and rooted for the Mets. He had fun with sports trivia as well. Charles was an avid reader spending most weekends at the library.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Anita; daughter, Ashley (David) Pilger; grandchildren, Jackson & Eloise; siblings, Jeffrey (Judy) & Deborah (Andrew) O’Connor, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Julia and his brother Rogers Eckhard. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Little Free Library (Todd H. Bol Vision Fund).

A memorial service is being planned at the First Presbyterian Church in Whippany, NJ in January. Details to follow.
