OBITUARY Charles Yockey April 26, 1921 – January 11, 2019 Charles “Bob” Yockey, 97, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 11th, 2019. He was born on April 26th, 1921 in Mapleton, Iowa to parents Rex and Alice (Watkins) Yockey. Bob proudly served his country in World War II as a B17 bomber pilot, based out of Mendlesham, England.

Bob was a naturally gifted handyman with a never ending drive to design and build. Even into his late 70s and 80s, nothing could stop him from building a fishing cabin or working on his rose garden, which he lovingly tended to after his wife, Virginia, passed away in 1996. Bob enjoyed fishing in the White River with his sons, which went hand-in-hand with his love for eating catfish.

He will be fondly remembered for how he could make anyone feel special, for how thoughtful, generous and kind he was, but more importantly, for his funny wit and love for his family. Bob was welcomed into Heaven by his parents and beloved wife, Virginia. Those left to cherish his memory are his one daughter: Michal (Bill) Hall; three sons: Walter (Terri), John, and Robert (Beth); one sister: Elizabeth Ilku; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bob’s memory to the North Arkansas Hospice.
