Glenn, age 91 of Surgoinsville, TN passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2019 at Holston Manor. Kingsport, TN. He was born in Lebanon, VA on March 30, 1927, and was the son of the late David Wood and Mariah “Kate” Josaphine Dickenson Glenn.

In addition to his parents Charlie was also preceded in death by a brother, Ted Glenn. Charlie enjoyed life and was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Plumbers & Steamfitters of Elizabethton.

He was a self-employed plumber. Pipe fitter for the TVA. He was a US Army veteran of WWII.

Mr. Glenn is survived by the mother of his children, Sue Glenn Bowen; a daughter, Deborah Rouse (Bill); 2 sons, Barry and Eddie Glenn; grandchildren, Andy Glenn (Jen), Shannon Babb (Melissa), Emily Glenn, Jason Glenn (Crystal), Clinton Glenn (Lauren) and Samantha Glenn and 12 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, March 4, 2019 from 6 to 7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. and anytime at the residence of Eddie Glenn.

Stuart Masonic Lodge #224 AF&AM Lebanon VA will render masonic rites. A celebration of life service will follow at 7 PM with Associate Pastor, Mike Sampson officiating. Music will be provided by Emily Glenn, Joy Chapman, Anita McClain, and Rebecca Starnes.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Mountain Home National Cemetery, with the American Legion Post #3/265 and Virginia National Guard furnishing military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the local Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, 1020 Jericho Dr. Kingsport, TN or Prospect United Methodist Church, Yuma VA. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Village at Allandale, he called that home, Amedysis Hospice, and Holston Manor.
