Charles Edward “Coon Dog” Wilkie, 53, of Polkville Road, Shelby, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home. Born in Burke County, on October 3, 1965, he was a son of James Theadore Wilkie and Gloria Jean Mincey Wilkie. Charlie worked for Royster Turkey Farm and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and the Camp Call Masonic Lodge #534.

He loved serving his community by being a volunteer with Polkville Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents he survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Barbara Terry Wilkie; two daughters, Jennifer Randall and husband Robbie of Cherryville and Stephanie Allen and husband Tyler of Boiling Springs; brother Jimmy Wilkie of Icard; three grandchildren, Cooper Allen, Emma Allen and Levi Grant; special little buddy, Mason Yelton; grandmother, Louise Bumgardner; and nephew James R. “Burr Head” Wilkie.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Polkville Volunteer Fire Department. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM at Polkville Volunteer Fire Department with the Revs. Paul Scott and David Ledford officiating.
