OBITUARY Cheryl L. Parker November 20, 1947 – January 2, 2019 LEWISTON: Cheryl L. Parker, 71, of Lisbon Falls passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2019 due to illness. She was born in Decatur, Illinois on November 20, 1947 a daughter of Godfrey and Doris (Perry) Herscher. She was a 22 year resident of Melbourne and Indialantic, Florida and was a graduate of Melbourne High School.

She subsequently moved to Lisbon Falls in 1981 with her Navy husband Wayne, where she fell in love with Maine and settled. After working eight years in the private sector, and an additional combined 34 years of federal service at Patrick AFB; Naval Station, Mayport, FL; and the former Naval Air Station, Brunswick, ME. , she retired in 2006.

She also served as a Maine notary public and wedding officiant for 26 years. She was a member and officer of the Merrymeeting Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). She organized a local chapter of the Red Hat Society, which was comprised mainly of former coworkers of NAS Brunswick and valued their friendship and companionship on many fun adventures (with plenty of laughter) over the years.

Her mantra was “Take time to laugh…it’s music for the soul”. She is survived by her son, Christopher Cook of Wales; her daughter, Melissa of Cynthiana, KY; her grandson, Brandon Anderson and her great granddaughter, Madison of Lewiston. She also leaves behind her sisters, Norma Boyd of Macco, FL, Carma Hughes of Oveido, FL as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Wayne. Condolences may be shared with the family at www. crosmanfuneralhome.com Visiting hours will be held at Crosman on Wednesday January 9, 2019 from 11-1pm followed by a funeral service at 1pm also at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. Arrangements are under the care of Crosman Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services 40 Main St. Lisbon Falls, 353-4951.
