Cheryll Lynne Murphy (Manifee), 57 years old, of Woodlandpark, Colorado went to rest in the loving arms of our savior Jesus Christ on January 8th 2019. Cheryll was born in Cottonwood, AZ on October 1, 1961 to her parents James Robert Manifee and Doris Darlene Manifee (Ladd). She is survived by her Husband Scott Murphy, sons – Garrett Murphy and Locke Murphy (Shawnee), daughters TyLee Murphy and Amy Williamson and her unofficially adopted daughter Kirsten Micheal, granddaughters Marah, Makenna, Macie and Bella, her mother Doris Manifee, brother Don Manifee (Tina).
Brother-in-law Terry Murphy (Lori), sister-in-law Cathy Arrendale (Bill) and sister-in-law Jess Cornell Murphy. She is also survived by a herd of nephews, nieces and great nephews and great nieces (Brianna and Tim Manifee, plus the Murphy Clan in Arizona and Louisiana). Cheryll was preceded in death by her father, Bob and her brother-in-law Mike Murphy.
Her friends and others that she touched in a positive, loving way are as numerous as the stars in the sky. She was a unique, God Fearing woman that never met a stranger and had a love so deep for her family and all of God’s creatures that can’t be appropriately described. She was funny, always encouraging and a talented artist.
She was raised and went to school in Bagdad, Arizona and worked at the copper mine for 17 years. This girl could do it all. She was a lube tech at the Mill, lube truck operator in the pit, welder in the mine shop and a warehouse tech.
She even roofed homes during the summer when attending college. In Bagdad, we were blessed to move to the Byner Cattle headquarters where we started a feed store and molded Locke into a Cowboy. He shared her love for the horses and quickly became a mini-me to her for his ability to ride horses.
She taught Garrett and TyLee to ride in our little arena at the headquarters. From Bagdad she moved to Page and enjoyed her life in the community, raising kids and riding horses. She particularly enjoyed her Church Family at the Faith Bible Chapel.
Pastor Manny Parks and his team of associates at Faith Bible stirred the spiritual growth of our family, set the spiritual foundation for our children and drove their passion for the ministry through mission trips to South America and Africa. She also operated an automated Trash Truck while living in Page and as usual made many friends along the way assisting older folks moving their trash cans to the street. Scott drug her kicking and screaming from Page to Grants, New Mexico.
Again, as usual she blessed the community and was blessed in return with multiple friends and a huge church family (Pastors Matt Clark and Danny Almanza). While in Grants, Cheryll watched Garrett and TyLee grow in spirit as they were nurtured through amazing growth with Matt and Janah Clark. Looking back, she would say the worst and best things came from our move to Grants.
It was the hardest move she made but the best with the spiritual growth of the family. Cheryll’s final move was to Woodland Park, Colorado in June of 2014. She loved the mountains!
She finally had her place in the pines where her horses had a roof and a place to roam. She loved her fireplace in the dining room and always insisted on a fire in the morning where she could warm her toes and enjoy a cup of coffee. She went to work as a haul truck operator in the Cripple Creek and Victor mine in 2015.
She loved driving her big truck! ! Again, she blessed the community and the community blessed her with lots of friends and church family.
She loved, was loved and will be deeply missed! Memorial Services will be held in Prescott, AZ on Saturday January 19th at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Chapel of Prescott, 2313 AZ-69, Prescott, AZ 86301.
