Chester “Butch” L. Farmer, of Crosby Township, passed away February 18, 2019 at the age of 74. He was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on July 11, 1944 to William and Opal (nee Mattingly) Farmer. Chester then married Pauline Hood on November 9, 1968, and together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters.

Chester served in the U.S Army for 6 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed to golf all around town with the “old guys”. Chester loved to travel and even visited all 50 states.

He loved being a grandpa and cheering on the grandkids at all their sporting events. He was an avid reader and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years: Pauline Farmer; his beloved children: Mindy (Tom) Sander and Carla (Jeff) Bley; his grandchildren: Craig & Matthew Sander, Brittany (Paul) Isham, and Eric & Nathan Bley; his great-granddaughter: Emmalyn Isham; his siblings: Joe (Carolyn) Farmer, William Farmer, and Fran Farmer.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents: William and Opal Farmer; and his sister in law: Donna Farmer. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Brater-Winter Funeral Home from 9AM until the time of the Blessing Service at 11AM. Burial to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4420 Carver Woods Rd. , Cincinnati, Ohio 45242 or to a Charity of Choice. You may bring your donation to the visitation or mail it to the funeral home.
