Christene Dean Thomson – Mrs. Christene Dean, 86, of Coxville Rd. , entered into rest November 8, 2018. Mrs. Dean grew up in Flat, Texas and was the daughter of the late Thomas Glass and the late Gladys Johnson Glass.

While in her forties, she was the Texas State Champion in archery two years and later taught Archery at a local college. She and her husband, John moved to Thomson in 1972 and she worked with Sisson Realty and Dozier Realty for many years and retired as a real estate broker. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, sewing and reading.

Mrs. Dean was a member of Raysville Baptist Church in Thomson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dean was predeceased by her husband, John Calvin Dean; daughter, Yvonne Kay Dean and son, David Ray Dean (Terri). Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Dean Amerson (Ken); Vickie Dean Newsome (Leon) both of Thomson, Johnnie Dean Brown (Gene) of Norwood; sons, Dennis Wesley Dean (Lisa), John William Dean and Christopher Thomas Dean (Pam) all of Thomson; 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, November 11, 2018 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Richards officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Dean’s children would like to thank Alliance Hospice and their sister, Johnnie Brown for the excellent care she has given to their mother over the past few years. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd. , Thomson, Georgia is honored to serve the Dean family.
