Christine A. (Gurski)(Chaves) Dugre, 73 of Ludlow, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham after a very brief illness. Born in Ludlow on Feb. 2, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Frances (Rogus) Gurski.

Christine was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block for 16 years, and later at the family business, MRD Design in Indian Orchard, for 20 years until she retired. A Ludlow resident for most of her life, she was an avid bowler, and enjoyed golfing and canoeing and crossword puzzles. She loved to watch football and hockey, and loved animals, especially her parakeet, Eli.

The wife of the late Americo Chaves, Christine is survived by her three children, Angela Prenosil and her husband Ed of Thorndike, Randall Chaves and his wife Lisa of Ware, and Darren Chaves of Ludlow. Funeral Services for Christine will be held on Saturday, May 12 with calling hours from 9am – 11am at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Ave. , Springfield followed by a Prayer Service in the funeral home at 11am .

Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Indian Orchard. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701. For additional info.
