Christy Shay Woods, age 49, passed away on May 15, 2019, in the cardiac care unit of Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. She was born December 22, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Jerry C. Woods of Milton, GA and the late Linda Davis Norman of Gainesville, GA. Shay graduated from Milton High School in 1987 and the University of Georgia in 1992.

Following graduation, she worked at Hanson Nurseries, the Home Depot IT department, Labor Staffing, and various other jobs. Shay enjoyed reading, cats, scuba diving, and camping. She particularly loved the Smoky Mountains and the ocean.

Shay was a compassionate and loving person who liked to laugh and wanted everyone around her to be happy and festive. She had a beautiful smile that was readily given to all. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Shay is survived by her father, Jerry C. Woods, of Milton, GA and half-brothers Trevor A. Woods of Milton, GA, Zachary (Rachel) Wyatt of Atlanta, GA, and Trey Hanson of Columbus, GA, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and stepfather, Robert Norman of Gainesville, GA. Cremation handled by Little & Davenport Funeral Home and Crematory, Gainesville, GA.
