Cindi Lou Shipley, age 63, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She was born on December 11, 1954 to Ben Richard Shipley and Edith Frances Shipley. She graduated from Syracuse with a Bachelors in English and Drama and finished her Masters at the University of Hawaii.
She worked as a high school teacher for the majority of her life teaching in Hawaii, New York City, and Syracuse displaying a love for educating young souls. Cindi loved to paint, owning an art gallery in Hawaii called “Garden of Art” for two years. This passion would eventually lead to her meeting the love her life Orlando Boffill Hernandez, a painter from Cuba, whom she married on October 15, 2012.
She also had a special place in her heart for her two grandchildren Case and Emma ages 3 and 1 respectively. Cindi is survived by her husband Orlando Hernandez, her Son and Daughter in-law Richard and Kristin Nicolas, her nieces and nephews John and Anne-Marie, and her brother Ben and Sister Marty. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 10 am at Sears Middleton Jones Funeral Home 209 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
