Cindy Ann Jessen, 61, of Sturgeon Bay and Roscoe, IL, passed away at her home in Sturgeon Bay on Jan. 8, 2019. She was born March 19, 1957 in Waco, TX to Richard and Nancy (O’Connor) Kohlhagen.

Cindy graduated from Rockford West High School and attended Western Illinois University. On July 23, 1977, she married Terry S. Jessen in Rockford, IL. Together, Cindy and Terry raised two sons in Roscoe, IL.

Cindy loved gardening, crafting, and giving all her crafts away to others. She had a heart of gold and always cared more about others than herself. She is survived by her husband Terry, two sons, Jeremiah (Carrie) Jessen, Roscoe, IL, and Joshua Jessen, Loves Park, IL; 4 grandchildren, Gavin, Mason, Makayla, and Kennedy; her parents, 4 brothers, Doug (Michelle) Kohlhagen, David (Chris) Kohlhagen, Rick (Mary Jo) Kohlhagen, Robert Kohlhagen; 2 sisters, Becky (James) Gerhardt, and Shelly (Ed) Collazo.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Teresa Jessen. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and at Salem Lutheran Church on Friday, Jan.

18, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am at the church on Friday with burial in Stevenson Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name.
