Born July 7, 1927 in Rockingham, NC she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Lizzie English McGilvary. She was preceded in death her husband Elger Neeley and sisters, Mary Jerome and Dorothy Biggs and brothers William, Martin and Ernest McGilvary.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Claire will be held 11 AM, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Marshville City Cemetery’s Gazebo. The family will receive friends following the service by the grave. Mrs. Neeley is survived by sons, Frances Mills of Oklahoma, Wayne Mills of Blanchester, Ohio, Charles Mills of Concord and John Moore of Marshville; daughters, Lavon Smith of Martinsville, Ohio; daughters, Mary Neeley Brister of Clarksville, Ohio and Claire E. Ivie of Waynesville, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
