Clarence Jones May 24, 1926 – January 28, 2019 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Clarence William Jones (formerly of North Chicago, Illinois) made his transition on January 28, 2019 at the age of 92, where he resided in Saginaw, Michigan. Clarence was born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama on May 24, 1926 to Milton Jones and Thomas Ella Jackson. Clarence was an Elks Lodge member in North Chicago, Illinois, #1359 and in Saginaw, Michigan, #674.

He also served in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge from Great Lakes, Illinois on April 6, 1946. Clarence accomplished much and worked with determination and vigor. He was employed at American Motors in Kenosha, Wisconsin for 30 years, before retiring in 1976.

Clarence didn’t fully retire after leaving American Motors. He went on to work for North Shore Catering Service in Waukegan, Illinois. Clarence was well known and recognized as the face of North Shore Catering Service and many remember him driving the big white catering truck everywhere on a daily basis.

He often used the truck as his regular vehicle. He loved to cook and setup for the catered affairs, which took him all over the greater Chicago area. Clarence leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mary Jones; his children, Brian Jones, Darryl Jones, Myrna Jones and Phillip Jones; grandchildren, Krystal Gholston, Channing Jones, Jada Jones, Xavier Hood and Tiana (Nyla) Russell; sisters, Gerneice Sibert, Ella Irene Miller; brothers, Willie Jackson and George Jackson; daughter-in-law, Deedra Jones; son-in-law, Darrell Russell, a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives; as well as extended family members of Clarence and Mary’s union, including: sons, Charles Herbert (deceased), Kenneth (Georgia) Smith, Raymond Motley; daughters, Deborah (Lesile) Hunter, Jeroma Henix, Cassandra Norman, a special grandson, Nahji Norman, and a host of grandchildren (14) and great grandchildren (7).

Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Milton Jones, mother, Thomas Ella Jackson, brother, Curtis Jones, sister, Madie Murphy, and daughter, Genesia Kay Jones-Russell. A Celebration of His Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the North Shore Garden of Memories Cemetery, North Chicago, IL.
