Mr. Clinton Smith, age 81, of Valley, AL passed away on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at Valley Park Manor Assisted Living. He was born on June 1st, 1937 in Shawmut, AL. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat Smith; his two daughters, Lisa Smith and Tracie (Russell) Newton; his two grandchildren, Haley Newton and Hunter (Kasi) Newton; his two great grandchildren, Tanner Newton and Turner Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Smith and Odell Hawkins; his brother, Hugh Smith; his three sisters, Charlene Hawkins, Elaine Plair, and Wilodean Moody. Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut. He served in the U.S. Army for two years.

He worked for West Point Pepperell for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, father, and granddaddy. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 at 11:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley.

Pastor John Samanie will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM (EST) until the service hour at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Valley Park Manor for the loving and generous care given to Mr. Smith.
