HUTCHINSON, Clover Lee “Indy”, age 80, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 8, 2018. She was born April 30, 1938 in Macon County, Alabama, the youngest of twelve children. She relocated to Dayton, Ohio with her mother when she was sixteen years old.
She attended Roosevelt High School in Dayton. She met the man of her dreams, Rayfield Hutchinson and married him in 1958. Out of their union came eight beautiful children, four girls and four boys.
For a short while, she worked as a Teacher’s Aide for Dayton Public Schools, a Seamstress at Sears and a Housekeeper at Sheraton Hotels. Her most fulfilling times, was being a wife and a homemaker. Her greatest passion was her family.
She really enjoyed spending lots of time with them. There was never a dull moment in her house. She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health began to fail her.
Her husband was also a committed member and deacon. Clover loved to worship. She was always singing and humming as she worked and cooked.
Cooking was her second greatest passion. One of her sayings was “food shouldn’t be so good”. It’s also evident that she loved to eat!
Preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Rayfield Hutchinson Sr.; sons, Rayfield Jr. and Lawrence Ray Hutchinson; parents, Richard and Emma Watts; siblings, Madeline Wade, Charlie Mae Barrow, Eunice Bass, Archie, Morrell and Theodore James Coles, Juanita Bush, Ruby Edmonds, Velma Peaks, Thelma Harney, Annie Jewell Pounds. She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Caroline (Shawn) Smith of Huber Heights, OH, Donna Evans, Ruby Harris and Sharon Hutchinson of Dayton; sons, Derrick Hutchinson of Dayton, Dwayne (Markeita) Hutchinson of Columbus, OH; 19 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Francis Calloway of Dayton, Littie Bell Cox, and Burt Hutchinson of Alabama; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family that she loved dearly. She will always be remembered for her genuine personality and beautiful and loving spirit.
Funeral service will be held 10 am Monday, October 15, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Bishop Clarence Norton officiating. Visitation 8:30 am at the funeral home until time of service.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
