Obituary for Clyde Griffing, Jr. Clyde V. Griffing, Jr., 67, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on September 20, 2018. Clyde was born in Dermott, Arkansas, on December 5, 1950, to Clyde, Sr. and Margie Avery Griffing of McGehee, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gail Griffing Kirtley; and his infant daughter, Sarah Griffing.
Mr. Griffing graduated from McGehee High School in 1969. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and his Master’s Degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He was then employed by Arkansas Social Security Disability Services in Little Rock before moving to Salt Lake City, where he was a rehab counselor for the Utah State Office of Education.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Reiff Griffing; daughters, Amanda Griffing Freshman (Alex) and Alicia Griffing; beloved granddaughter, Emily Freshman, all of Salt Lake City; and sister, Sharon Griffing Palfreeman (Dave) of Springdale, Arkansas; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Griffing will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City on October 2 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Mt.
