Cole was born January 19,1938 at Mercy Hospital in Watertown, N.Y. He was the son of the late Lynn and Harriet (Cole) Hartley. He graduated from Copenhagen Central School in 1956.

He then attended Canton ATI graduating in 1958 with an Associate’s degree. He would later attend RIT (Rochester) and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Cole enlisted in the United States Navy in 1961 and served until 1965.

He married Joann Fleming on June 3, 1961. They lived in Tennessee and Georgia while stationed with the Navy. After serving in the Navy they lived their entire married life in Rochester, N.Y. Joann passed October 18, 2011.

Cole worked for General Dynamics for many years until they left Rochester in 1970. He then went to work for General Railway Signal until he retired in 1974. Cole loved walking and bicycling around Rochester.

He was proud to be a member of the Western New York Coaster Club and loved to tell tales of the roller coasters he had been on. His biggest passion was traveling and he had visited all 50 states twice except for Hawaii and Alaska, which he only traveled to once each. He had, also, been to Europe and the Caribbean.

Cole is survived by a nephew, a niece and many cousins. Friends may call Friday, 11 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home (495 N. Winton Rd. ) where a Funeral Service will be held immediately following.
