Obituary for Colie Wilson Haron Colie Wilson Haron, the firstborn of five children to William Charles and Ellen Haron, was born March 26, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents preceded him in death. Colie attended Parkman Elementary and DuSable High School.

After completing high school, Colie worked and studied at Olive Harvey College. In 1976, Colie enrolled at Southern Illinois University where he became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. Whenever you saw Colie, you would always see him in his Frat attire.

Colie worked as an Assistant Manager at the African-American Books Center for many years and found his passion at a hospital transportation company. Colie joined the United States Army Reserve in 1978, and was awarded many medals and certificates throughout his enlistment. Colie accepted Christ at an early age, he loved Christ.

You could always find Colie at church with his mother, brothers and sister. He joined First Greater Bethlehem and later moved his membership to International Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Ken Fuller. Colie served faithfully in the church, whatever was needed, the pastor knew he could count on Colie to get the job done.

Colie knew with God all things are possible. Colie was known as “Mouse”. He was well liked in the neighborhood.

Anything you asked of Colie he did it with a helpful heart. He loved his family. Colie enjoyed taking road trips.

He was the family’s designated driver. Colie was a simple guy. Whenever you saw Colie, you never saw him without his bag.

He made sure he had a book to read and bottles of water with him. Colie leaves to cherish his memory whom he loved, his brothers and sister Gerald (Millicent), Lawrence, Fredrick (Karen) and Ellen (Prentiss); his uncles Jerrol Meriwether and Ernest Meriwether; his nieces and nephews Crystal, Cortez, Quiana, Nadia, Jennifer, Sean and Lauren; and a host of special cousins and friends.
