COLLEEN A. HONERMANN SIEBENAHLER THOMAS, age 72, of Luverne, MN, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. She was born April 6, 1946, in Adrian, MN to Carl and Evelyn (Schei) Honermann. She attended school at St. Adrian Catholic Schools and graduated in 1964.

Colleen married Arnold “Shorty” Siebenahler on July 31, 1965, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived on an acreage west of Luverne. Colleen worked at the Blue Mound Inn, Schutz Hardware, Ben Franklin, True Value Hardware and Scotty’s – all in Luverne, MN.

The couple divorced in 1988. Colleen moved to the Twin Cities and began working at Menards. She was the first female to work in sales on the floor at Menards.

She later worked at Continental and Concord Inc., IT placement firms. On November 16, 1991, Colleen married Dan Thomas. The couple lived in Chaska, MN and in 2002 they moved to Jordan, MN.

In November of 2012, they moved to Luverne, which brought so much joy to their family. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Luverne and the LCCW. She was also a charter member of the Luverne Eagles Club.

In her early years on the farm, Colleen enjoyed raising her lambs (many that she even had named), gardening, canning, making lefse, spending the 4th of July on Lake Sarah for our annual family reunion, deer hunting with Doug & John, going to the MN Vikings training camps and games with Sheila, trips to FL with Dan to visit her brother & sister-in-law, and her greatest joy was attending her grandchildren’s events such as sporting events, choir concerts, FFA, etc. She was an excellent friend to so many people. She will be missed – as her beautiful smile will be remembered.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Dan Thomas, Luverne; three children, Sheila (Mike) Siebenahler-Holland, Garvin; Doug (Evonn) Siebenahler, Lake Crystal; and John Siebenahler, Luverne; eight grandchildren, Bo & Carly Holland; Damia & Dougray Siebenahler; and Quinton, Courtney, Riley & Savannah Siebenahler; and a brother, Delbert (Carole) Honermann, North Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, with parish prayers at 7 pm.

Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10 am at St. Catherine Catholic Church, in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings.

Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
