Connie Rae Faulkner, 71, of Spencer passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer at St. Luke Lutheran Nursing Home in Spencer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer, IA. Burial will be in the Milford Cemetery in Milford, IA.

Connie was born on June 24, 1947 to Robert Eugene and Evelyn Arlene (Rubel) Faulkner in Laurens, IA. She lived in Milford during her childhood and teen years graduating from Arnolds Park High School in 1965. At the age of 18, she moved to Los Angeles, CA working her way through college changing locations every year.

She spent her freshman year at Woodbury College in Los Angeles, CA, later moving to Wayne State in Wayne, NE, then moved to the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, and then transferred to Valley College in Van Nuys, CA and completing her bachelors degree in Business Education from Cal State in Northridge, CA in January of 1972. Upon graduating from Cal State she took another year of education and received her lifetime teaching credentials for secondary education and adult education. Connie taught high school business and English at Catinda Valley School for 25 years.

She then moved to Primm, NV for 3 years and worked in casinos. She later moved to Las Vegas, NV and worked various retail jobs for 6 years. She returned to the lakes area settling in Spencer in 2007.

Connie took RCIA and gratefully joined the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer in 2010. Connie loved the rich history of the catholic faith which has had a tremendous effect of her. She was also an honorary member of the Hope Reformed Church in Spencer through which she learned a lot was and so grateful for the prayerful nurturing members she was blessed to be associated with.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her mother Evelyn of Milford; 2 sisters, Sherry Tiede of Plano, TX and Vickie Kane of Carroll,IA; brother Robert Faulkner of Arnolds Park, IA; 8 nieces and 1 nephew.
