Conrad Mark Shurtz July 19, 1941 – February 07, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Conrad Mark Shurtz, 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:25 A.M., Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin. Conrad had been a fork truck operator at Spartan Printing Company. He had also been a Doctor of Chiropractic.

He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin. He was born July 19, 1941 at Gary, IN, the son of Darrell Maurice and Inez (Quinn) Shurtz. He married Mary Ellen Keller and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, six children – Michael Shurtz and wife Rachel of Du Quoin, Carol McDonald of Pinckneyville, Carmen Atkins and husband Bill of Du Quoin, Roger Shurtz of DeSoto, Lynn Bowlin and husband Tom of Metropolis, and Bridget Vale of Carterville, two brothers – Dahl Shurtz of Tamaroa and Alan Shurtz of Collinsville, twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother – Randall Shurtz. Per Conrad’s request, cremation services were held.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Friends may make memorials to the Chapel Hill Cemetery at Du Bois and will be accepted at the funeral home. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
