Case Vandenberg was called home to Heaven on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Fresno, Ca. He was born on January 7th, 1935 in Haarlem, Netherlands and was the third child of thirteen of Cornelius and Wilma Vandenberg. He immigrated to the United States when he was sixteen years old.

At a very young age Case successfully provided for his parents and siblings by getting into the dairy business. Eventually he made his way to Dos Palos where he met Mary on the dairy farm in 1957 and married soon after and raised four children together. Here, he made his home and many wonderful friends.

Case’s passion was soccer as he was a talented player in Holland as well as here in USA. There was never a lack of conversation when it came to his favorite subjects; Soccer which he also coached here in DP and brought home two championships and current events. While in Dos Palos he was devoted to his faith and an integral part of the Catholic Church.

He took pride in his involvement with the Knights of Columbus and was active in it for 40 years receiving an award for Knight of the Year. As many of you who knew Case he loved a “good deal” and collectibles. He surrounded himself with his many prized possessions his coins and antiques.

After his career as a dairyman and farmer, He semi retired in 1997 and moved to Fresno to become an entrepreneur in many different business ventures one being a Landlord. Case is survived by his children and their spouses: Robert and Cindy Vandenberg, Loretta and Dale Ashcraft, Mike and April Vandenberg, and Stephanie Vandenberg and Robert Robertson; his 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Arnold, Antone, Fred, Hans, Wilma, Marianne, Elizabeth and Theo, as well as his wife Rita Vandenberg and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dos Palos, CA on January 11, 2019 at 10am with a Celebration of Case’s life will follow at the church hall.
