Obituary for Craig Michael Farmer Craig Michael Farmer, 52, a resident of Fergus Falls, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 9, 1966, in Minneapolis, MN, to Virgil Jr. and Carolyn (Garrelts) Farmer. After attending West Fargo High School, Craig began his career following in his father’s footsteps, trucking for many companies, short and long hauls.
He became an owner/operator and finished his career under the authority of Karriers, Inc. of Grand Forks, ND. Craig was a long-standing member of Prometheus Motorcycle Club of Fargo, ND, for years before retiring in 2017. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church of Fargo, ND, and Horace Lutheran Church.
Craig was also a member of the VFW Post 612 Auxiliary in Fergus Falls. Craig enjoyed watching his son play many sports including wrestling, placing at state and watching him step on the podium for the first time. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting in western North Dakota.
Craig was very blessed when his daughter, Macy, gave him two beautiful granddaughters. He enjoyed listening to and watching their activities. He was very proud of granddaughter, Zoey’s go-kart racing because of his past of racing himself.
On May 30, 2018, Craig married the love of his life and best friend, Darcy, at the Fergus Falls Veterans Home where their compassion for veterans established Boots on the Ground Veterans Motorcycle Fun Run in 2014. Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Houston; and daughter, Gabriel. Survivors include his wife, Darcy of Fergus Falls; children, Macy (Derek) Haselhorst of Aberdeen, SD, Brody Farmer (son of Jodell Farmer) of Horace, ND; stepchildren, Brandon, Breck, and Carlie Soland of Fergus Falls; grandchildren, Zoey Pigors, Evelyn Haselhorst; sister, Kathy (Norman) Dewvall of Memphis, TN; brother, David Farmer of Minneapolis; father and mother-in-law, James and Della Hulter of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and his beloved dogs, Tuesday and Marlie.
