Obituary for Dale E Bowman Dale E. Bowman, 87, of Craigville, IN, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 17, 2018, at Ossian Health & Rehab Center. Dale was born on July 18, 1930 in Bluffton, Indiana to Robert W. & C. Beatrice (Eichhorn) Bowman. He graduated from Lancaster Central High School in 1948.

He served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a life long farmer and a devoted member of Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church where he served in many roles: Sunday school superintendent, a teacher and youth leader, trustee and an usher. Dale was an avid hunter, collector, enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

On October 3, 1953 at Lancaster Chapel Church, Dale and Eva L. (Zook) were married. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Eva of Craigville, and three children: Brenda D. (Ken) Ferry of Evansville, Dennis D. Bowman of Fort Wayne and David B. (Michelle) Bowman of Craigville. He was a loving grandpa to five grandchildren; Trent Ferry of Indianapolis, Vince (Taylor) Ferry of Toledo, OH, Brandon (Kassie) Bowman of Englewood, CO, Megan (Chad) Dunham of Shoals, IN and Bryce Bowman of Craigville.

He is preceded in death by his parents and only sister Evelyn Jarrett. A service to celebrate Dale’s life will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Pastor Dennis Leinbach will officiate.

Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton with military honors by the American Legion Post #111 of Bluffton and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice of Fort Wayne and the Continuing Care Staff at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
