Dale Jean Cundiff, 88, was received into his heavenly home on December 11, 2018, at his home in Oakwood. Dale was born December 3, 1930, in Danville, IL, the son of Ivan and Helen (Gaydos) Cundiff. He married the love of his life, Dorothy “Jean” Pashe on October 30, 1948, in Danville, IL.

She preceded him in death in 2017. Dale is survived by three sons, Michael (Jackie) Cundiff, of Oakwood; Richard (Pamela) Cundiff, of Lilburn, GA; Carey (Joni) Cundiff, of Oakwood; a daughter, Cathy Feldman, of Tuscola; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Josef “Bean”) Hohn, of Oakwood, Libby (Joshua) Stephens, of Champaign, Dustin Hatchel, of Arcola, Erin Cundiff and Kaitlyn Cundiff, both of Lilburn, GA, Summer (Aaron) Farris, of Danville, and Jordan (Amber) Cundiff, of Nashville, TN; eleven great-grandchildren, Giles (Lindsay) Hohn, of Fort Collins, CO, Meghan (Whitney) Lacks, of Winterville, NC, Travis (Allison) Hohn, Kenny Hohn, Andy Hohn, all of Oakwood, Brayden Hatchel, of Arcola, Ayden Stephens, Anabell Stephens, Alivia Stephens, all of Champaign, Spencer Cundiff, and Maylene “Mimi” Cundiff, of Nashville, TN, Brooklyn Farris, London Farris, of Danville; and three great-great-grandchildren, Magnolia “Nola” Lacks, and Clementine “Lemi” Lacks, both of Winterville, NC, and Brantley Hohn of Oakwood; a cousin raised as a brother, Lloyd Cundiff; one sister-in-law, Patty (Ron) Turner and one brother-in-law, Wayne Birge, both of Danville, as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Also surviving, Catherine Goble, a very dear friend.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters, Julie (Cundiff) Hughes and Rachael Ann Cundiff, a great-grandson, Kyle Hughes, and a great-granddaughter, Brynlee Farris. Dale was an accomplished carpenter and built countless homes during his years as owner of Cundiff Construction and Cundiff Lumber. He loved to read and play golf.

Dale was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church and had just this past year begun calling Hillery Assembly of God his church home. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Hillery Assembly of God, 1½ miles north of Hillery on Henning Rd. , immediately followed by a celebration of Dale’s life.

Rev. Kenneth Young will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in Dale’s name to Hillery Assembly of God or Vermilion Heights Christian Church.
