Dale L. Shafer May 10, 1944 – January 30, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Dale L. Shafer passed away January 30, 2019. Born May 10, 1944. He was 74 years young.

He was a well-known fixture in the design community, working as an interior decorator for over 50 years. Besides doing design work, he did major remodeling for his clients and on some occasions became the architect and contractor. While his primary work was in Cincinnati and Dayton, he worked in Chicago, New York, Sun Valley, Michigan and Florida.

Over the years he also did contract design for offices, hospitality and health care. He worked with the military at Write Patterson for the Air Force, Marines and Navy as well as the Army Facility in Lima Ohio. He was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers, serving as President, Vice-President and board member.

He was a member of NCIDQ since 1974. He was a member of the Cincinnati Opera Guild Board for over 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois Shafer and survived by four brothers, Daniel J. (Vanessa), Patrick V. (Patti), Richard L. (Roberta), John W., and their families.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please check back for service details. Memorials may be directed to Cincinnati Opera, American Cancer Society or any animal rights organization.
