Dana Carolyn Estelle Smallwood-Friia, 48, passed away with her loving husband and family by her side, at her home in Orchard Beach, Maryland on February 18, 2019 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Dana was born December 18, 1970 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1988.

She was a former owner of Nabbs Creek Dock Bar & Grill and was voted Best Bartender in Anne Arundel County numerous times. Dana was a tiny woman with a huge heart who regularly planned and hosted fund-raising events to help raise money for those less fortunate in the community and particularly, children’s charities. She enjoyed participating in and was an instructor of the martial art, Krav Maga.

Dana loved driving her Corvette, going to concerts, dancing (especially to Michael Jackson), taking trips to Ocean City and the Caribbean with her husband and doing anything that involved spending time with her family and friends. Dana is survived by her beloved husband, David Friia of Orchard Beach, Maryland; her mother Margaret “Peggy” Gaultney of York, Pennsylvania; her sons Joshua Mitchell of Orchard Beach, Maryland and Charles “Chip” Hale of Pasadena, Maryland; her daughters Cody Wildasin of York,Pennsylvania and Kylie Friia of Orchard Beach, Maryland; her grandchildren Levi Hastings and Ayden Mitchell; her mother-in-law Tran Hardy and father-in-law William Friia; sisters Jennifer Lucas (David), Michelle Haynes (Mike), Jackie Huffner (Chris), Danielle Groom (Francis), Nina Dutton (David), Sheila Williams (Randy) and Tina Westervelt; her brothers John Gaultney (Stephanie), Christopher Gaultney (Eugenia), Justin Gaultney (Dana) and Billy Friia along with her many nieces, nephews and too many friends to count. She was preceded in death by her father John Gaultney and her sons Kenneth Mitchell and Seth Wildasin.

Family and friends are invited to call at the family owned and operated McCULLY-POLYNIAK FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3204 Mountain Road (PASADENA) Saturday February 23, 2019 from 1-4 PM. At which time a funeral service will begin. Cremation to follow.
