OBITUARY Dane Lamar Pierce February 21, 1949 – December 29, 2018 Dane Lamar Pierce, 69, of Van Buren, left this earth on Saturday, December 29, 2018. He was born February 21, 1949 in Pensacola, FL. He spent most of his younger years in Florida and has resided in Arkansas for the last 45 years.

He was a mechanic, roofer and carpenter. He enjoyed driving in demolition derbies and stock car races at Crawford County Speedway and Tri-State Speedway in Pocola. He loved riding his motorcycle, fishing and NASCAR racing and was excellent at problem solving, creating, inventing and developing tools for his mechanical work.

He cherished his wife and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rubin Pierce and Mildred Williams; son, Dane Lamar Pierce, Jr. and sister, Tempie June Williams. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vicki Pierce; two daughters, Christy Myers of Fort Smith, Vanessa Cobbler and husband Corey of Greenwood; stepdaughter, Tracy Nichols and husband Ryan of Van Buren; stepson, Bradley Fry and wife Ellen of Van Buren; step mother, Alice Pierce of Pensacola; two sisters Angie Edwards (John) and Allison Mills all of Pensacola; three brothers, Glenn Pierce, Tom Pierce and wife Tammy and Toby Pierce and wife Leigh Ann all of Pensacola; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel of Van Buren, AR. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, J.J. Degnan, Jimmy Spencer, Jr., Noah Turman, Koby Fry, Jacob Turman and Luke Turman. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
