A homegoing celebration for Mr. Daniel Luther Bethea of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 will be held Saturday, September 8th, 2:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Carmel AME Church, 4209 N. 24th St., Pastor R.A. Polk, officiating. The interment will follow.

Daniel Luther Bethea was born June 23, 1942 in Tampa, Florida. Daniel went home to live with Jesus after a brief month-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Daniel attended Project Return since 2001.

During his early years he was a dock worker and was affiliated with the Longshoreman Union. His greatest joy was praise and worship at Greater Mt. Carmel AME Church, where he was in regular attendance.

He was an avid domino player and loved listening to music. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Elizabeth Bethea and devoted grandmother, Thelma Collins. He was loved by his family, friends and church.

He will be greatly missed by his sisters, Zel Carnegie (James) and Loretta Bethea; brothers, Ronald Bethea and Walter Bethea; niece, Jazmyne Boyd; his loss will also be felt by his close lifelong friend, Theona Williams and her daughter, Sheri Mack; cousins, Joyce Beal Johnson (Rev. Joe Johnson and family), Verdell Rogers (Ernest), Elyse Powell (Winston); god-sister, Rev. Cora Laster; extended family, the Bludsaw, Harris, Williams, Creal and Lowe; special friends, Gail and Claudette Jones, the Gibbons, Proctor, Stubbs, and Caravella families, Gerri Chastain and family, Idella Tyler and Beverly Williams, Diane Ray, 38th Avenue neighbors, Annie Adams, Thomas Calhoun and Rev.
