Daniel K. McLean, age 59, of Baker City, Oregon passed away on October 20, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 26, 2018 at the Quail Ridge Golf Course in Baker City from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Daniel Keith “Boone” McLean was born on December 22, 1958.

He attended Pine Eagle High School and graduated in 1977. In the early 80’s, Boone enjoyed wrangling wild horses for the BLM in Harney County with his cousin Mike McLean. He also attended Boise State, training to become a Respiratory Therapist.

Boone went on to work as a Respiratory Therapist at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario, Oregon for many years. Boone also graduated from Lineman School in Idaho. He was currently working as a truck driver for the Black Distribution.

Boone loved the outdoors and enjoyed many hobbies like elk and chukar hunting; bass and steelhead fishing; golfing on Twilight League (Miner’s Jubilee); mushrooming, hunting, huckleberry picking with family, camping, and just being with family. He was also part of the Baker City Elks. Boone is survived by his mother and her husband, Wilma and Butch Sadlowsky of Richland, Oregon; his father and his wife, Keith and Linda McLean of Burns, Oregon; brother and wife, Keith and Linda McLean of Burns, Oregon; brother and wife, Jerry and Diana McLean of Goodyear, Arizona; brother and wife, Steve and Cindy McLean of Baker City, Oregon; sister Carol and Patrick Wheeler of Burns, Oregon; sister, Rhonda Sadlowsky of Baker City, Oregon; stepson, Justen Crittenden McLean; stepdaughter, Tara Sowden; nieces: Mandy Clark, Peggy McLean, Hilary Frates McLean; nephews: Brandon McLean and Greg McLean.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Mildred Johnson and Warren and Avis McLean. Memorial contributions can be made to the Abby Graven Fund through Coles Tribute Center at 1950 Place Street, Baker City, OR 97814.
