Obituary for Daniel Charles Moon Daniel Charles Moon Dan passed away on the night of November 19th at the age of 57. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Terese Moon, as well his mother, Shirley, and his two sons, Nathan and Charlie. Dan will also be missed by his sisters Susie, Lori, Amy, and Joanne; and his many like brother friends.

His father Don, and sister Kathy have already passed. Dan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 13th, 1960. This is where he developed the values that he would carry with him for the rest of his life.

From an early age, Dan learned the value of hard work, integrity to his word, an exceptional work ethic, and the fun-loving demeanor that he was known for. Childhood paper routes and summers spent working at his Aunt’s restaurant instilled traits in him for the rest of his life. These early times were also the foundations of some of the many hobbies that Dan would maintain throughout his life.

He developed a love for hunting, fishing, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and just about anything else that had an engine. Dan was introduced to his wife on New Year’s Eve of 1983. He proposed a couple of years later with a cigar band, and it was one of the few times he was wordless.

Dan and Terese were married on September 6th, 1986. Dan loved the warmth and sunshine and longed for a change from the all too often cold and dreary weather of the Midwest. Dan and Terese departed on a summer long motorcycle adventure that led across the country where they discovered their new home in Arizona.

They didn’t arrive with much more than a few saddlebags and an endearing love for each other. They set up their house with an air mattress, a cardboard box, and a couple of lawn chairs and got to work building their lives together! The newly married couple set up deep roots in Arizona, starting in Phoenix.

Dan began work with Russell Mechanical and Terese went to work as a programmer analyst. Dan and Terese both developed deep friendships in the state and had other family members who would also come to call Arizona home. Having gotten an early start working at Milwaukee Pump and Tank, Dan was able to progress his career even further in his time at Russell Mechanical.

He was able to help grow the company and its Prescott branch, while also making long-lasting connections along the way. When he wasn’t working Dan greatly enjoyed exploring his desert surroundings, often while quail hunting. Dan’s first son, Nathan, was born in November of 1991.

Two years later, Dan and Terese’s second son, Charlie, was born. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to a new home in New River, Arizona. Dan quickly transitioned to life as a father and enjoyed spending time with his two young kids and his wife.

In 1999, Dan left Russell Mechanical to retire the first time wanting to spend more time with his family. Dan built his family a home in southeastern Arizona, and spent two glorious summers with his boys and wife traveling the U.S. seeing sights, going to various baseball stadiums, and visiting. But he never really stopped working, everything Dan did, he put everything into it.

Eventually Dan and his family landed in the Tucson area, where he spent many of his later years. The last years of his career were spent at Pueblo Mechanical and Controls. Dan will be remembered in the workplace as a skilled, intelligent, and hard working individual.

Dan was often first and last into the office, and still had energy to take care of more. Dan, always the man with a plan. Later in life, Dan developed a keen interest in personal aviation.

Flying airplanes was something that Dan found great joy and challenge in. He was able to log many hours in the cockpit. All the while, Dan found time for his other interests like traveling to new places, discovering new music, elk hunting, deep sea fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family.

Dan’s latest gift was retirement. He retired from Pueblo Mechanical in February of 2018. He and his wife were able to circle the US and parts of Canada in their RV in the past year.

Along the way, Dan had bought property in the Hill Country of Southeastern Texas. He was looking forward to starting a new life in the area. Dan was in the process of remodeling a condo in Horseshoe Bay when a tragic series of events took his life.

Dan suffered from a serious heart attack and a fall. The combination of the injuries was too much for his body. He will be greatly missed by all who surrounded him.

Dan will be remembered as a loving husband, a giving father, and a gracious family member. Most of all, he will be known as an incredible friend to anyone who knew him. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Daniel Charles Moon please visit our Sympathy Store.
