Daniel Harold Smith, 75, passed away February 7, 2019, in Ocala, Florida. He was born on April 20, 1943, in Reddick, Florida to Clarence and Frances (Kinard) Smith. Dan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force ,employed as a firefighter at Jacksonville Naval Air Station after 22 years of service he retired.

Dan enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar and writing his daily thoughts in a journal or on a Post It note. Dan had a big heart and was always the first to lend a helping hand. He was truly loved and will be missed by many.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Miller (Shawn); long time partner, Sue Edwards; brothers Paul and Jimmy; grandchild, Brandi Walters (Henry); great grandchild, Jaida Lebron (JaidaBug). A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Countryside Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob King officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Millwood Cemetery.
