OBITUARY Daniel John McConnell August 15, 1987 – July 11, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Dan loved to fly. He began flying when he was 16, earning his license at 17. Within nearly 10 years he turned that license into certifications on 7 different types of aircraft, and with each certification his love of traveling seemed to grow exponentially.

His love of traveling and of the sky laced with his need to overcome any challenge before him led him to many adventures, such as skydiving, hang gliding, bungie jumping off bridges in New Zealand, and jumping off the highest building in Australia. However, Dan’s activities weren’t limited to the sky. Closer to ground level he enjoyed scuba diving and volunteering at the New York Boat Club, where he regularly kayaked the Hudson.

His most recent dive was with his family in Key West, Florida. Dan will be cremated in a private ceremony and a portion of his ashes will be set free on a journey through the sky which will not be his last. The rest will be scattered by his family throughout the world.

Daniel was and always will be a shining star, forever in the sky and in our hearts. “Some people say the sky is the limit. For me, the sky is home”.
