Bartkus, 74, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019. He was born December 28, 1944 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Bennie and Sophie “Sally” (Dobos) Bartkus. Daniel was a retired Allegheny County Police Officer and was a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.

For his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, AFM 900-3/Vietnam Service Medal, and the AFM 900-3/Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Barbara E. (Pavlik) Bartkus, daughter, Melissa Bartkus of Elizabeth Township, cousin, Patty Canova of Dravosburg and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bartkus. There is no visitation. Military Honors Service will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
