Daniel E. Monak, Sr. 85, of Marblehead, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home. He was born April 21, 1933 in Marblehead, OH the son of George and Catherine Monak. He married Mary Ann Dziak on April 28, 1956 and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2016.

Dan retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a Life member and past Commander of Stanley J. Jadwisiak Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7572, Marblehead, OH.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, OH. Surviving are his daughter: Heidi (Rick) Roland of Marblehead, OH; sons: Daniel E. (Lisa) Monak, Jr. of Marblehead, David A. (Melissa) Monak of Huron, OH; grandchildren: Justin, Heath, Michelle, Jaret and Caden; brother: Richard (Janet) Monak of Marblehead, OH and sister: Carol (Von) Ellis of Marblehead, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Mary Ann; brothers: George Monak, Jr., Joseph Monak, Sr., Paul Monak, Sr., John “Jack” Monak; sister: Jean Glovinsky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father James Brown at 10:00 am Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St. Marblehead, OH. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 – 6:00pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, OH.

Additional visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 am until the Mass at church. Interment with Military Honors will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Marblehead Police Department, 513 W. Main St. Marblehead, OH 43440, Danbury Township Police Department, 419 Bridge Rd.
