Obituary of Daniel Elsey Daniel O. Elsey, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2018, at his home in Oscoda, Michigan. He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on July 11, 1939 to Orville William Elsey and Irene Louise (Balko) Elsey. Dan is survived by his wife Frances Carol (Ward) Elsey; daughter Cheryl Elsey (Karl Buche), son Mark Elsey (Pam) and daughter Madison Karen Gray.

Grandchildren: Jonathon (Tyler) and Christopher (Fiancée Meagin Mitchell) Elsey, and Josh & Emily Villacres. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and sisters in law Marilyn Sue (Ward) Buie and Kathleen Kafader Elsey. Preceded in death by parents Orville and Irene Elsey and brother Thomas W. Elsey.

Memorial contributions are appreciated to Marine Toys for Tots. FAMILY TRIBUTE Daniel Elsey faithfully served as a Chaplain in the Army Reserve, for 35 years, where he reached the rank of Colonel. He was an ordained Pastor and served primarily in churches in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Daniel studied engineering at Michigan Tech. He was a United States Marine, and served 6 years from 1959-1965. On October 15, 1959, he married Frances Carol Ward.

Sadly he passed just 8 hours before their 59th Anniversary. Dan was a mason; life member of the Trenton-Masonic Lodge. He retired from his career as a Corporate Credit Manager.

He served as a PTSA President when his kids were in Elementary school. He was a Scout Leader with the Boy & Girl Scouts. Daniel served his home owners association, the Villages of Oscoda, in several different roles from 2009-2013.

He served as a Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. He loved the outdoors and spent time camping and really loved FISHING! Dan enjoyed spending time with his friends & neighbors, Dave Ellison and Jack Ellsworth.
